Scholarships

Gippsland Grammar is an Anglican co-educational day and boarding school for children from ELC to Year 12. We offer a broad academic education, a wide co-curricular program and outstanding success in the VCE years.

There are four scholarships offered at Gippsland Grammar for 2024:

  • Academic Scholarships (closed - 2025 applications will open December 2023)
  • General Excellence Scholarships (closed - 2025 applications will open December 2023)
  • Music Scholarships (closed - 2025 applications will open December 2023)
  • Junior School Entry Scholarships (open for application from Friday 17 March)

Scholarships allow for remission of part tuition fees throughout a student’s education and are subject to satisfactory progress and review. The year levels and number of scholarships offered each year is dependent on the quality of applicants and availability of places.

Junior Entry Scholarships 2024

WHO:
Gippsland Grammar invites applications for our Junior School Entry Scholarship from students of high academic ability who are commencing their schooling at Gippsland Grammar in the following year levels in 2024:

  • St. Anne’s Campus: Year 5 in 2024
  • Bairnsdale Campus: Years 3, 5, and 6 in 2024

WHAT:
Scholarships are tenable for the whole period of primary schooling and are re-awarded annually provided that the holders continue to show good academic progress and contribute to School life. This scholarship will carry between 20% and 33% remission of tuition fees.

HOW:
To apply for the Junior School Entry Scholarship, please complete the application below by the closing date, Friday 21st July 2023. A copy of the student's most recent school report and NAPLAN results (if applicable) must be uploaded with the application.

In addition, all candidates for the scholarships will sit for an age and year level appropriate examination. Areas tested will be reading, mathematics and writing.

Examinations will be held at:
Bairnsdale Campus, 86 Bullumwaal Road, Wy Yung, and
St Anne’s Campus, 52 Raymond Street, Sale.

EXAMINATION DATE:
Friday 11 August 2023, 9:00AM-12:30PM

PROCEDURE:
The Examination is timed to commence at 9.00am. Candidates should report at 8:45am to Bairnsdale Campus Reception OR the St Anne’s Junior School Library. Children sitting for the examinations will finish at approximately 12.30pm. All materials which will be needed are provided at the examination room. Full details will be forwarded once candidates are registered.

OUTCOMES:
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted during the week beginning Monday 21 August 2023.

2024 Scholarships

Academic Scholarships for new students entering Years 5-11 in 2024, or current students entering Year 5, 6, 7 OR 11 in 2024 are awarded on the performance of the student in the scholarship examination held on Thursday 30 March 2023 at the School. An interview with the School Leadership Team for short-listed candidates is an integral part of the process of awarding scholarships. Applicants are also assessed on their responses to application questions and supporting documentation.

General Excellence Scholarships for new students entering Years 7-11 in 2024, or current students entering Years 7 OR 11 in 2024 are offered to develop students as leaders and responsible citizens in a global community. These scholarships are available to students who have demonstrated qualities of leadership at school, in their local community and/or through participation in a variety of co-curricular activities. Applicants are required to sit the scholarship examination on Thursday 30 March 2023 and complete an online application with supporting documentation. Short- listed applicants will be interviewed by the School Leadership Team.

Music Scholarships for new students entering Years 5-11 in 2024, or current students entering Years 7-11 in 2024 may be awarded to talented and dedicated students of music who demonstrate strong musical potential. There are recommended minimum standards for each year level, though consideration will be given to students with limited experience who show strong musical potential. Applicants are required to complete the online Music Scholarship application form, though do not need to sit the scholarship examination. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to audition with the Director of Performing Arts.
