We were excited to hear that some of our 2022 Old Scholars received three of the seven available 2023 Gardiner Dairy Foundation Tertiary Scholarships at a presentation lunch in Melbourne last month. Old Scholars Hamish McLeod, Eden McMillan and Will Coleman each received a scholarship which will provide them $10,000 a year for the first three years of their tertiary degree to help cover accommodation, travel and study expenses throughout their degree. The Gardiner Foundation believes that the next generation of dairy farmers, service providers, professionals, business owners and community volunteers are the future of the dairy industry and its communities, which is why it invests in emerging leaders to help develop a long-term future for the dairy industry. Hamish (currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce) received the Doug Weir Scholarship, Eden (currently studying a Bachelor of Paramedicine/Bachelor of Nursing) received the Niel Black Scholarship and, fittingly, Will (currently studying a Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine) received the scholarship named after well-known former Maffra vet Jacob Malmo.
