For most of us, Term 1 is very much the beginning of the year. However, it means the end of the competitive season for our Rowing community. Rowing has been an established part of the Gippsland Grammar Community for decades and it continues to grow from strength to strength. There have been many achievements for our rowers this season however, for me, the true highlight is the overall strength and care of the Rowing community. This program provides many of our students with direction, focus and a sense of purpose. It helps build resilience and courage, but also offers our students a safe environment to challenge themselves outside the normal curriculum. This was particularly evident at the recent Rowing Presentation Evening, where students, staff and families came together to acknowledge the success of the teams this year. It was wonderful to hear of the highs and lows of the season, but also the learning that our students experienced from being part of the program. I would like to say a huge congratulations to all our student rowers for their efforts and achievements this year. I will also thank Nick, Casey, Danny and Ellie for the countless hours that have been put into supporting our students. I also want to acknowledge the support of our parents and families that make up the McColl Club for their endless support across the season.
