On Monday at our morning assembly we welcomed all students and staff back to school for the start of Term 4. I spoke to our students about the exciting term ahead where being responsible and respectful in the playground will remain a focus for all students. This includes putting our rubbish in the correct bin for recycling, composting or landfill. I spoke about wearing our uniform with pride and wearing blazers to and from school daily. I formally welcomed our new student, Samaira Tewari, into Year 5 Cuthbert. As per our tradition, Samaira received our St Anne’s badge and her House badge. These badges are a symbol of connection with Gippsland Grammar and I know our students wear their badges with pride. If you have not had the opportunity to read my Welcome to Term 4 letter, please refer to VOS.

Adventure Playground

As the saying goes: ‘Rome was not built in a day’ and the same can be said about our Years 3-6 adventure playground! Due to the recent pandemic, rising building costs and other factors we have had a lengthy delay. However, I am super excited to announce that we were able to move the first significant piece of equipment into place over the holidays. Our slide is now positioned near Kukun Kalak and will become an essential part of our adventure playground. I believe in creating engaging outdoor spaces where students can play and learn and natural materials, such as rocks and plants, and engaging playground equipment will be key features of this new play zone. We have collaborated with our students and experts from the Wellington Shire in creating the playground design.
